ABOUT SHEER
SHEER is an NYC-based indie media company and virtual art gallery centering the art and stories of multicultural creatives globally.
SHEER holds space for multicultural creatives to explore the intersecting identities that make us who we are in a world with limiting systems that don’t always hold space for our nuance. By sharing real stories and hosting community events and exhibitions, we strongly believe in solidarity, transparency, understanding, and connection among creatives of color.
Founder
Originally from East Flatbush, Brooklyn and born to Haitian and Ethiopian immigrant parents, Bianca Jean-Pierre has always been drawn to creative expression and storytelling fueled by her cultural upbringing. She was inspired to curate SHEER as a multicultural creative space that isn’t performative and doesn’t conform to any status quo.
SHEER has been featured in Brooklyn Magazine and COLOSSAL and has shared the journeys of over a hundred creatives over the years while partnering with The Shed, Chashama, The Affordable Art Fair, The Hamptons Fine Art Fair, and The Gloria Steinem Foundation to exhibit their work. Bianca has also delivered engaging art talks and presentations at prestigious venues including NeueHouse, Camp David in Industry City, Art in DUMBO with the Brooklyn Arts Council, Feminist Camp, and Eleventh Hour Gallery.
